Terms
1. Mockup approval and start of work
Seven Day Web provides a free homepage mockup before any payment is required. If you approve the mockup and choose to proceed, this agreement becomes active and the 50% deposit is due.
2. Delivery timeline
The build timeline begins once the deposit has cleared and you have provided the content, images, and information needed to complete the project.
3. Client content
You are responsible for providing all text, images, logos, and content for the website, and you confirm you have the right to use it. If content is not provided within 14 days of our request, the timeline pauses. After 30 days with no response, we may close the project and retain the deposit for work already completed.
4. Revisions and scope
Revisions are adjustments to the approved design — changing colours, swapping images, editing layout. New pages, new features, or a complete redesign are a change of scope and will be quoted separately.
5. Ownership and IP
Seven Day Web owns all design, code, and project materials until final payment clears. Once paid in full, ownership of the completed website transfers to you — excluding third-party tools, stock assets, licensed fonts, and reusable Seven Day Web templates or methods. We may display the work in our portfolio unless agreed otherwise in writing.
6. Final payment and launch
The remaining 50% is due before launch, deployment, file handover, or transfer of ownership. We may withhold launch until all outstanding amounts are paid.
7. Deposit refund
The deposit is fully refundable if we have not yet begun design or development work. Once work has started, the deposit becomes non-refundable for work already completed, except where NZ law requires otherwise.
8. Cancellation
Either party may cancel by giving written notice. If you cancel after work has begun, payment is due for work completed to that point. If Seven Day Web is unable to complete the project, any deposit will be refunded in full.
9. Care Plan
The Care Plan is optional and month-to-month. Either party can cancel with 14 days' written notice. Work outside the selected plan is quoted separately. Without a Care Plan, ad-hoc changes are $150 per request.
10. Third-party services
You are responsible for any third-party costs not included in the scope — domain registration, paid plugins, email services, advertising, or external subscriptions.
11. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any sensitive or proprietary information shared during this project.
12. Service guarantee and liability
Services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. To the extent permitted by law, Seven Day Web's total liability is limited to the fees paid for this project. We are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, or business interruption, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
13. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of New Zealand. Both parties will try to resolve any dispute in good faith before taking formal action.
Acceptance
By signing below, you confirm you approve the proposal, accept these terms, and authorise Seven Day Web to begin work once the deposit has been paid.
